What are traveling tips to Cuba?

Find the Perfect Hotel!

Are you planning a trip to Cuba? Ensure that the trip will be a success by taking a few precautions beforehand.

Start by planning and do it early. Most travelers plan their trips months in advance. By waiting too long to book travel plans, you may be left with minimal options. Once the planning is under way, check your passport. All U.S. citizens need a current passport to enter Cuba and you’ll also be provided with a visa tourist card when you purchase airline tickets into the country.

When your trip departure date arrives, keep cash on hand. Be aware that you’ll be responsible for paying a $20 department tax at the airport. Ensure that you have cash available for this. Related to other expenses, Cuba accepts U.S. dollars , Travelers Checks, and Pesos for payment; however, businesses do not accept U.S. dollars as payment for anything. Plan accordingly.

Once you’re in the country, keep in mind that your U.S. medical insurance is not valid. You may want to purchase additional insurance through your travel agent. And, just like any other long distant endeavor, check frequently with airlines, hotels, and other itinerary locations prior to departure. Luggage, packing, and time requirements change frequently.
